Logs are put onto the deck that feeds a highspeed debarker to remove all of the bark. A conveyor then moves the debarked log to the merchandising deck where it is sawn into 8 and 10 foot (240 and 300 cm) lengths as determined by the initial overall log length. Logs are then conveyed to the sawmill headrigs for the primary log breakdown phase of production.
